Mote Creek
Location: A mile or two south of the town of Point Arena.
Mile Marker: MEN 1288
Access: Shore
Facilities: None. Maybe they've added a porta-potty but I wouldn't bet much on that.
Nearest Public Telephone: North in Point Arena

This location is a popular shore-picking site. So popular, it's heavily picked over; CDFG would dearly love to put this location under site management. If that happens, it'll be closed in a New York minute. To support the need for a closure, one only has to look at the CPUE and the progressively increasing distances fishers hike to get their limits. Still, there must be a lot of abalone in the area available to those willing to poke around in dark, wet holes made by slippery, wet boulders in the surf washout zone.
